Foundation Scholarships

Scholarships are one of the main priorities of the McGill-Toolen Foundation to ensure that every child is afforded access to a McGill-Toolen Catholic education.  Scholarships allow more students, roughly 25% of our student population, the opportunity to attend McGill-Toolen Catholic High School.  Currently, 30 named scholarships have been established at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School awarding approximately $60,000 a year to deserving students.

There are three ways to contribute to our scholarship program:

                           Endowed Scholarships

Endowed Scholarships funds are permanently invested in the McGill-Toolen Foundation and the investment income is used to fund one or more scholarships with a minimum donation of $50,000.  The benefactor of an endowed scholarship has the opportunity to name their scholarship in memory or in honor of their loved one.  The benefactor also determines the student criteria for the selection process.  Once the scholarship is fully funded, the benefactor is invited to a special recognition event and their scholarship is listed in the Annual Report.  The Endowed Scholarships awards are based on student requirements and recommendations made by the Scholarship Committee consisting of McGill-Toolen guidance counselors, administration and support personnel.  Students are recommended by their partner school principal.  These scholarships do not require an application process.

McGill-Toolen Foundation Scholarship Fund

The McGill-Toolen Foundation Scholarship funds are managed under the McGill-Toolen Foundation with a minimum donation of $10,000.  A minimum of $2,500 per year with a four year commitment is required.   The benefactor of the McGill-Toolen Foundation Scholarship has the opportunity to name their scholarship in memory or in honor of their loved one.  The benefactor also determines the student criteria for the selection process.  Once the scholarship is fully funded, the benefactor is invited to a special recognition event and their scholarship is listed in the Annual Report.  The McGill-Toolen Foundation Scholarship awards are based on student requirements and recommendations made by the Scholarship Committee consisting of McGill-Toolen guidance counselors, administration and support personnel.  Students are recommended by their partner school principal.  These scholarships do not require an application process.

St. Augustine Scholarship Fund

The St. Augustine Scholarship Fund assists students who embody the values and ideals that we seek in our McGill-Toolen Catholic students, but whose families do not qualify for financial aid.  Children of Catholic school teachers, children of first responders and active duty military, children of McT alumni and  our Aquinas Scholars are eligible to receive assistance through the St. Augustine Scholarship Fund.  To qualify for this scholarship, students must meet standards of academic achievement, be involved in community service and show a commitment to their Catholic faith as well as a financial need.  For more information regarding the St. Augustine Scholarship and to learn more about the online application process or eligibility requirements, click here.
