In-School Faith Formation
  • Theology Classes - students are required to take a Catholic Theology course each year while at McGill-Toolen. Over the course of their four years, students will follow the US Bishops' Curriculum studying: Faith and Revelation, Sacred Scripture, Christ's Paschal Mystery, Ecclesiology/Church History, Christian Morality, Catholic Social Teaching, the Sacraments of the Church, and Apologetics.
  • School Masses - once per month and additionally on Holy Days of Obligation and special feast days our entire student body gathers in the Portier Center (gym) for the celebration of the Holy Mass. As Pope St. John Paul II reminds us, "The Eucharist is the Source and Summit of Christian life." Our worship of Christ in the Eucharist holds a central role in the life of our school. Students serve the Liturgy as lectors, altar servers, and in the choir.
  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament - Students will go to the McT Chapel for prayer and Adoration with their Theology class at least once per quarter. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in our school Chapel every Wednesday from 7:30 AM - 3:15 PM. Teachers and Staff members voluntarily sign up to be guardians of the Sacrament (scheduled adorers) during each class period of the day. Additionally, every other Wednesday, Theology classes will come to the Chapel for scheduled Adoration and Reconciliation times.
  • Stations of the Cross - During the Lenten Season students will have the opportunity to pray the Stations of the Cross in the McT Chapel during Theology Class.
  • Daily Prayer - Our entire day at McT is sanctified by our prayer. From the first bell, to before lunch, to the end of the day and during every class in-between!
  • Education in Virtue - See link in drop down to the left
  • Senior Class Retreat - each year our senior class goes on a half day retreat to Holy Spirit Hall and Sacred Heart Chapel in Fairhope, AL. This day retreat is aimed at providing an opportunity for our seniors to reflect on their time at McT and look ahead to living their faith beyond life at McT.
