  1. Write a one to two page MLA essay about the movie "When the Game Stands Tall."  Summarize the movie.  What was the most inspiring message.  Tell me who your favorite character was and why.  Least favorite character and why?  Favorite scene.  Why do you think the team struggled early and why/how were they able to overcome their challenges and win another state championship.  The essay is worth 100 points and will count as a test grade.
  2. Also, you will get 20 extra points for watching movie.
  3. If you need to make up time in this class you can sit in the gym Monday or Tuesday during our practice and I will sign your green sheet.

MLA Guidelines hints and reminders

  • Margins should be set at one inch top, bottom and sides

  • Use a traditional font, such as Helvetica or Times New Roman
  • Font size should 12pt, document should align left...do not center
  • Document should be doubled space throughout, no more or less anywhere
