"Pray for our team...in 2015!"
McGill-Toolen Catholic High School has now officially registered for the Alabama High school Physics Competition. This prestigious competition will have 30-40 of the best schools, 70-90 hopeful teams and 270-400 of the finest science students (who all think they can win-those who have no chance don't come!)
The Physics Team Ratings on December 20, 2014 were used, as required, to project our teams and individual positions. Ratings will certainly change and a final list and placing will be be submitted on January 15, 2015!
Information about the prestigious competition, outstanding facilities open house and awesome Physics Show is described at: Physics Competition, Tour & Show
Remember that the two highest Pre-qualifying scores will be selected as competitors. All remaining team members will be selected based on final ratings AFTER the QUALIFYING on Wednesday January 14, 2015.
ALL Physics Team members are REQUIRED to attempt qualifying*(Please see Important note below).
If you are in Honors Physics such preparation would provide you with an unfair advantage over other students in the second semester of Honors Physics (as well as earn a guaranteed 110 for a test grade in the 4th quarter!)
Good things tend to happen for those who prepare. I can report that the hardworking student willing to sacrifice personal comfort and pleasures always experience immense rewards!
I am praying that you have the courage, discipline and initiative needed to raise the McGill-Toolen Catholic High School Community to the highest levels ever achieved at this competition! Some will cower in the face of the challenge. I am certain some will rise up to make history possible. YOU can to be part of a history that will live decades into the future!
Do not wait! You can be assured that training matters. In fact it is the reason for the Physics Team's success! Please decide to START YOUR TRAINING now!
Happy New Year & Highest Regards,
Dr. Burgess
