College Prep Geometry Assignments

Plans for the week of November 4-8

We will begin this week with a test on sections 4-1 to 4-3 on Monday.  We will then be covering sections 4-4 through 4-6 during the remainder of the week.  Since we are testing on Monday, there will be no assignment on Monday night.  The remainder of the assignments will be posted daily, and the students will receive them in class.

Sec 4-6  Isosceles Triangles  HW p 289 # 3,4,5,6,13,16,17,18

Also a reminder that the offer for the bonus points is still there for those who did not turn it in on Thursday.  Must be done by tomorrow for the extra credit.

Plans for the week of Oct 25 - Nov 1
This week we will be completing sec 4-2 and covering 4-3 congruent Triangles. I have posted several Khan Academy videos to help the students as we go through section 4-3, 4-4, and 4-5. The students should also have plenty of notes and examples in their notebooks to help with the assignments as they are given. Tuesday of this week is dedicated to class retreats, and we will not have math class. Our next test will be on Friday, Nov 1 covering the material from sections 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, so the students should continue to review their notes throughout this week.
Assignments will be posted beginning Monday.

TEST SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL MONDAY.
Several alternate schedules along with other activities this week have caused us to delay the test for 4-1, 4-2, and 4-3 until Monday. We will review further in class tomorrow. Students should review all practice problems over the weekend and be ready to test on Monday. No other assignments for this week.

Do the assignment in the spiral notebook.
Reminder that we will test sections 4-1,4-2,4-3 on Friday. Notebooks will also be collected on Friday.

Sec 4-2 Look over the notes from class and the examples.
Then do p. 250 #9-15 in the notebook.

This week we will complete chapter 3 and begin Chapter 4.  Monday we will do final reviews of ch 3, and the students should review the material we have covered in class.  Tuesday we will test sections 3-1 to 3-4.  Wednesday-Fridays assignments will be posted  later this week.

Students are now keeping ALL CLASS NOTES AND EXAMPLES in a spiral notebook, as well as homework. Please be sure that you have a spiral notebook for this purpose.

Plans for the week of October 14 - October 17

REVISION IN HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT:

We will not take the test on Thursday. We will spend today and Thursday on writing equations of a line, which appears to be a weak area for most students. We will test this material on Tuesday of next week.
Also canceling the final part of the project. The material turned in so far has been recorded for the first quarter.

Sec 3-3 Slope (intro) HW p 193 #12-17, and 18-24 (#18-23 should also be graphed on the
paper provided in class). Calculate the slopes on 18-24 first, then graph
#18-23 like we did in class. The students should have 2 examples
already on the graph paper.

HOMEWORK FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT OCT 9

Part 1 of Parallel City Project is due tomorrow. The students have a full description of what is to be turned in tomorrow. This part is to be on a sheet of white typing paper (they picked up a sheet today in class). Nothing more than what the students were told to do should be completed by tomorrow.

FRIDAY, AUG 30 HOMEWORK CHANGE

The students are only to do one graph on midpoint. They have a graph paper with two examples that we did in class, and they are to do the 3rd one this weekend and have it for Tuesday. IGNORE THE ASSIGNMENT THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY GIVEN FOR THIS WEEKEND. With all the alternate schedules this week, it has been hard to keep up the pace that was planned.....hopefully that will be better next week.
