Senior Events: Dress Code, Guidelines, Etc.


Senior Grandparents Mass & Reception - Friday, March 31st , in the Gym

Mass- 9:30 am

Reception after Mass in the  courtyard. If it's raining, reception in the agora.

After the reception, seniors are dismissed for the day.

Parents are invited.

You may sit with your grandparents. Seating will be in the chairs on the floor and on the right side bleachers (same side as the Chamber Singers); the students who normally sit there will be sitting elsewhere. 

Gentlemen: dress pants, dress shirt, TIE, dress shoes with socks.

No tennis shoes, Birkenstocks, Crocs, flip-flops, or sandal-type shoes.

Ladies: Sunday dress or nice pants outfit (long pants only- no Capris or gauchos)

Dressy shoes only; no flip-flop style shoes, Birkenstocks, Crocs, or tennis shoes.

All clothing should be modest and appropriate for a school Mass. No spaghetti straps, sleeveless dresses or shirts, or dresses or skirts shorter than the school uniform length. No bare backs, exposed midriffs, or exposed cleavage/low necklines; if you have to keep pulling your top either up or down to cover some part of your body, don’t wear it! Whatever you wear should cover as much of your body as your school uniform does.


Senior Prom - Saturday, April 1st at the Mitchell Center. 8 pm.


Senior Picnic - Tuesday, May 9th, during “A” period, 3rd & 4th lunch waves only. Seniors will report to “A” period class for 1st and second lunch waves, then to the front lawn of the McGill building when the 3rd wave bell rings. Drinks and two slices of pizza per person will be provided. 

Dress Code: jeans and a t-shirt from the college which you will be attending; otherwise wear any McT t-shirt 



Senior Breakfast - Friday, March 31st, 7:00 am, McT Dining Hall

There is no charge for the breakfast; however, this event is for McT seniors only. No guests. 

 Dress Code: 

Gentlemen - nice pants (NO JEANS OR SHORTS) & shirt - you do not have to wear a tie, but NO t-shirts, or caps/hats.  

Ladies- nice pants/capris & blouse or a dress. NO inappropriate, revealing, or tight clothing. NO plunging necklines, NO exposed cleavage or midriffs, and NO bare backs.



Cap and gown Distribution - Tuesday, May 16, after the last senior exam, around 9:20 a.m. 

You must come to pick up your cap and gown even if you have no exam this day!  

Seniors are to go to the outside windows of the library on the track side. Caps and gowns will be handed out through these windows according to your last name. 

Your obligation sheet must be completed and signed and turned in prior to this day; if it is not, you may bring it with you, or we will make a new one for you, BUT you will have to wait to get your cap and gown until there is no line.                        



Senior Awards - Wednesday, May 17th8:15 a.m. in the gym. 

Attendance is required; please invite your parents. 

 Dress Code: 

Ladies: Sunday dress or nice pants suit and dressy shoes. NO inappropriate, revealing, or tight clothing. NO plunging necklines, NO exposed cleavage or midriffs, NO spaghetti straps or “cut-in” dresses or shirts without also wearing a cover-up.  NO bare backs.

Gentlemen: dress pants (NO JEANS) and shirt, A TIE, dress shoes. Be clean-shaven and have your hair trimmed.

No one is to wear tennis shoes, Crocs, flip-flops, or open-toe Birkenstock-style shoes.



Graduation Mass - Wednesday, May 17, 5:30 p.m. in the gym.

Line up at 5:00 p.m. 

Line up as you will for graduation. Check the list that will be posted outside the Finance Office. 


Dress Code: same as the Senior Awards. 

Boys MUST wear a tie. 

In addition, wear your gown, but no cap. 



Graduation Practice - Friday, May 19th- 9:00 a.m. McT Gym.  

Attendance is required.

Be on time, and plan on the practice lasting about 2 hours.

Dress Code: same as the out-of-uniform days during exams. Do not wear pajamas or sleep pants.



Graduation - Friday, May 19, 8:00 p.m.  Line up at 7:30 p.m. THIS IS NOT A MISPRINT. 

 Do not be late; allow for traffic and parking. 

 Dress Code: same as the Senior Awards. 

Be sure to have your gown, cap, and tassel.
