Executive Director

McGill-Toolen Catholic High School Foundation


McGill-Toolen Catholic High School Foundation is seeking an Executive Director.  The position requires approximately 20 hours per week. The Executive Director is responsible to the Foundation Board of Directors, The President of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, and works closely with the school’s advancement team.


The primary responsibility of the Executive Director is to cultivate gifts to the Foundation’s scholarship and endowment funds and to oversee the management of these funds.   The Executive Director works with the Board of Directors to set strategic goals for the growth of the Foundation funds and with the Catholic Foundation of the Archdiocese of Mobile, who manages the investment of these funds.

  • Must possess a passion for Catholic Education
  • Must be motivated to achieve financial security for McGill-Toolen Catholic High School
  • Demonstrated success in donor relations
  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping and Quick Books
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and meet timelines
  • Strong ability to self-manage, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Must support the teachings of the Catholic Church and embody the mission and culture of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, through behavior and daily interactions.


Job Responsibilities

  • The Executive Director will provide overall day-to-day management for the foundation including donor and donor database management
  • Work with Advancement Staff, Foundation Board of Directors, President and Principal of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School to meet and exceed fund contribution targets
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure that Board policies and programs are established and implemented.
  • Ensure effective involvement of Board of Directors and bring appropriate matters before the Board for input, review, or approval.
  • Ensure that the Board is given accurate and timely information on the state of McGill-Toolen Foundation finances.
  • In conjunction with other staff as appropriate, organize Board activities and committee meetings
  • Oversee bookkeeping and effective accounting of pledged gifts, receipts and grants to the school
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with individuals that would consider planned gifts or gifts of endowed scholarships.
  • Work with Advancement Staff, as needed for advertising, public relations and fundraising projects.
