This is the first show of Coach Hart who is the Swim and Dive coach for McGill-Toolen Catholic School. In this show he talks about the preparation of this up coming season and also interviews two of his senior swimmers.

hi everyone and welcome to the Mac to Waterworks show I'm Jeffrey Hart had some good diving coach here at mcgill-toolen Catholic today we're going to recap the Battle of Old Shell Road meat from last week Iowa senior night at ums they're the only school with their own pool and so we decided that we'd start something a little different this year and and have a senior night with senior representing seniors at McGill ums and Saint Paul's it is Battle of Old Shell Road so it is for bragging rights and fortunately enough we were able to come away with the victory I'm we're some in the lot of off of vents we had summer summon out of character just give him an opportunity to take some breaks from their regular events but also giving them chance to swim some other things and try out some other things so that we gave them their main events at arrest when we came away we were lucky and Come Away with the victory they only scored the top two which I mentioned last episode they were only able to score the top two so is really a test for us on the top inside to see if we could do because we are so deep but but seeing what those topping kids were able to do and race in those other events and we were lucky enough to come away with Come Away with the win this week leading up to it we kind of been training simply just Monday and Tuesday we're Hard Day's last week or the last meet we had practice the morning of and had weights on Wednesday we just had weights leading up to and we're able to get after it in the afternoon one or two see we were able to do with just a weight session we looked a lot fresher which was good to see I'm normally Wednesdays are erase days where we get up and race anyway so this was just a virtual practice for us I'm with some other competition we didn't go after Thursday and Friday got right back to it so it's good to see those kids get up and race which was a simulated practice for so you know we the second meet of the year is always a good test to see where we are but we just got to keep training lots of room for improvement the sun was in their eyes the flags are moving we had a lot of excuses we got our kind of cut those down and reduce those errors that we saw a lot of people said they couldn't see cuz the water quality but that's par racing outside fortunately enough this is our only out outdoor meat and so it was a good opportunity for us to to see just like to race outside will be inside the rest of the year and will be going from there in indoors and seeing what we can do inside against the competition from here on out next step will be interviewing to senior swimmers getting their thoughts on the 2015 season Jonas today Spotlight today we have Anna Rose senior summer Force backstroker and freestyler and just wanted to get her thoughts after the ums me the battle of show Road what was your thought process heading into the meet this past weekend really training hard I just wanted to you know do my best and even if my times weren't right on just make sure that the effort was there what does being your season your season what are some of the goals that you have moving forward do you qualify for finals in both of my events and score as many points as possible for the team this year  so do you have any plans next year are you going to try and so many where next year or what are your plans  turn off so being a senior how does that change is that change anything how you approach anything does that do cause you to do anything different do you want to work harder because I know that like this is going to be my last year like swimming in high school and I won't get another opportunity so I want it to be my best good deal well thank you Aunt for joining us today this is our senior Spotlight with our senior freestyle and Vac stroker in a rose I have with me here senior Sally McLane she's a freestyler brushstroke or with us so talking can you miss me last week what were some of your thoughts heading into the meat what's the wind just for bragging rights true we can go away with Old Shell without beating you a mess and Saint Paul's it's always a good win hear those tool to so what are some goals that you have this season for you as an individual and as a team faster in  be my personal vest and as the team I want us to go to State and win  yeah that's it tell me you're in you're out for us I'm so being a senior this year how is that is that change the way you approach things or how you train or what is the senior done for you this year wow it makes you like think about things wearing us like you have a lot more to do and fine if you want to swim in college if you don't and just have to figure it all out and still swim I guess some in college do you have any plans next year was far as what you're going to do you going to try and swim you just going to go to school what are your plans rear end after States  absolutely well thanks again Sally thanks for joining us will be back right after champions for Champions and for everybody who loves water sports this this is water instinct welcome back back to Waterworks this Saturday October 3rd we will be traveling to Pensacola for the Northwest Florida invite the meet starts at 10 at the Escambia County Pool Warehouse Booker T Washington we'll be hosting ourselves Tate High School Pensacola High School Robertsdale and Escambia High Schools should be a good weekend Washington came over to our invite and their girls are good they beat Our Girls by about 90 points and so we're going to head over there this weekend and look to see if we can't return the favor at their own pool they have a lot of quality girl and that's the only Washington's the only school that we know of that we faced ever before so it should be a good opportunity for us to race a different competition and see what the rest of the area last offer I know one of the school's does have a recent D1 commits to the University of Florida so we know that she's going to be pretty talented but not sure what the rest of the team has to off as far as realize go so when we head over there we're going to be swimming some once again some and some different events were trying to find two in the lineup as always the name of the game at state is how many people you have scoring in every event so we're going to give some other people's some opportunities to swim some different events scoring as many points is possible so they can hopefully do the same at the state championship earning another state championship for mcgill-toolen should be a lot of fun we hope to see everybody out there and pens all lights should be a lot of fun lots of racing and a lot of excitement  this concludes our episode thanks for watching tuna next week another episode of
