Science

Mrs. Kerry Goff
Science Department Chair

Mission:
The science department seeks to engage students in the search for truth by calling on them to ask questions,  gather data, analyze, evaluate claims, propose hypotheses, experiment, draw conclusions and communicate scientific ideas. Class activities relate science to the real world, promote discovery of scientific phenomena, and nurture a habit of informed decision-making. Students are prepared for Christian service and leadership socially with frequent experiences in cooperative investigative teams, intellectually through challenging curricula, and spiritually by displaying daily a deep respect for both the dignity of man and the beauty of creation.

"Science can purify religion from error and superstition; religion can purify science from idolatry and false absolutes." Pope John Paul II (1920-2005)

“ I am among those who think that science has great beauty. A scientist in his laboratory is not only a technician: he is also a child placed before natural phenomena which impress him like a fairy tale .” - Marie Curie (1867-1934)
