The McGill family provided the first "planned gift" in 1896 for a Catholic High School in Mobile. Their legacy is still lives on as the earnings from the McGill family gift have supported the school for more than 130 years. We encourage you to become a member of the Lipscomb Legacy Society, a society established in honor of Oscar H. Lipscomb, Archbishop Emeritus. The Lipscomb Legacy Society recognizes the generosity of individuals and families who have demonstrated the commitment to Catholic education by including McGill-Toolen Catholic in their wills or other forms of legacy giving.

A legacy gift is a contribution that is arranged in the present but distributed at a future date. Commonly donated through a will or a trust, legacy gifts are most often granted once the donor has passed away.

How do I join the Lipscomb Legacy Society?
To become a Lipscomb Legacy Society member, one must leave a legacy gift to the McGill-Toolen Foundation. We ask you complete a legacy giving agreement to confirm the intention of the gift. The agreement is signed and filed until the gift is realized. This ensures the intent of your generous planned gift is recorded accurately and that we honor your legacy.
