The McGill-Toolen Varsity Cheerleaders held a UCA Private Stunt and Performance Camp at Flip Zone July 9-11. The UCA Staff members were Lauren Williams, Head Instructor, from The University of Southern Mississippi and Britiney Hersey from Mississippi State University. This was an intensive level 3 camp tailored to the specific needs of our squad. They were able to learn material at a higher difficulty level than they would have received at a resident cheer camp. The girls still learned a "Home Pom Routine" and were given a superior evaluation by the staff! Amanda Warner won "Jump Off", while Anna Byrne, Hannah Gwin, Jenna Hudson, Meagan Lynde and Katie Soutullo were named All Stars. The squad received a superior evaluation on all material taught at camp! Congratulations Varsity!!!
The Freshman and Junior Varsity squads attended camp at Southern Miss July 12-15 in Hattiesburg. The two squads combined to compete in the Junior Varsity division for their "Home Pom". They won 1st place in Junior Varsity for Pom Routine! Rather than being split and having to compete against each other, the two squads decided that they wanted to remain together and accept the challenge of moving up to compete on the varsity level. Congratulations to the girls for accepting the challenge of competing on a higher level and bringing home the gold! They won "Camp Champs" in Xtreme and placed 2nd in cheer! Marissia Slater won Jump Off and Carrie Price, Marissia Slater and Hannah Tison were selected as All-Stars.
