Senior Activities

Class of 2012- Important Dates, Times, and Dress Codes for Senior Events

1.  Senior Picnic -Tues., May 15, during “C” period, 3rd & 4th lunch waves only. Seniors will report to “C” period class for 1st and second lunch waves, then to the front lawn of the McGill building when the 3rd wave bell rings. Drinks, cookies, and two slices of pizza per person will be provided.

Dress Code: jeans and a t-shirt from the college which you will be attending; otherwise wear any McT t-shirt

2. Senior Breakfast-Sun., May 20, Holiday Inn Downtown, Mobile, 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Directions will be posted in senior hall.

There is no charge for the breakfast; however, this event is for McT seniors only. No guests.

Dress Code: Gentlemen - nice pants (NO JEANS OR SHORTS) shirt - you do not have to wear a tie, but NO

t-shirts, or caps/hatsLadies- nice pants/Capris blouse or a dress. NO inappropriate, revealing, or tight clothing. NO plunging necklines, NO exposed cleavage or midriffs, and NO bare backs.

3. Cap and gown Distribution - Tues., May 22, after the “A” exam, around 9:20 a.m.

You must come to pick up your cap and gown even if you have no exam this day!

Seniors are to go to the outside windows of the library on the track side. Caps and gowns will be handed out    through these windows according to your last name.

4. Senior Awards - Wednesday, May 23- 8:15 a.m. in the gym.

Attendance is required; please invite your parents.

Dress Code: Ladies: Sunday dress or nice pants suit (long pants only) and dressy shoes. NO inappropriate, revealing, or tight clothing. NO plunging necklines, NO exposed cleavage or midriffs, NO sleeveless dresses or shirts without a cover-up. NO bare backs.

           Gentlemen: dress pants (NO JEANS) and shirt, A TIE, dress shoes. Be clean-shaven and have your hair trimmed.

No one is to wear tennis shoes, Crocs, flip-flops, or open-toe Birkenstock-style shoes.

5. Graduation Mass- Wednesday, May 23, 5:30 p.m. in the gym. Line up at 5:00 p.m.

 Line up as you will for graduation (a list will be posted outside the Finance Office.)

A reception in the Toolen Auditorium will follow Mass.

Dress Code: same as the Senior Awards. In addition, wear your gown, but no cap.

6. Graduation practice -Friday, May 25- 9:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Center. 

Attendance is required. Be on time, and plan on the practice lasting about 2 hours.

Dress Code: same as the out-of-uniform days during exams. Do not wear pajamas or sleep pants.

7. Graduation -Friday, May 25, 7:00 p.m.  Line up at 6:30 p.m.

 Do not be late; allow for traffic and parking.

Dress Code: same as the Senior Awards.Be sure to have your gown, cap, and tassel.

Senior Privileges

Out-of-Uniform Days: May 17, 18, 21, & 22, 2012

Any senior wearing clothing that does not conform to the rules stated below will forfeit his/her right to dress down for the remainder of exams. 

Seniors may wear appropriate t-shirts, blouses, collared shirts, polo-type shirts, jeans, khakis.

NO plain white undershirts, camouflage items, sleeveless shirts or tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps, or halter tops.

 NO shorts, skirts, scrubs, pajama-type/long underwear-type, or any other drawstring-type pants.

NO SWEAT PANTS, WIND PANTS, FLEECE PANTS, TERRY-CLOTH PANTS, OR ANY OTHER PANTS WHOSE PRIMARY FUNCTION IS FOR ATHLETIC USE OR WARM-UP. 

Seniors are not to wear t-shirts that advertise alcohol, tobacco, or drugs nor those that advertise bars or any establishment whose sole purpose is to sell or promote alcohol, tobacco, or drugs.  Also, no shirts promoting guns or violence are to be worn.

Seniors are not to wear shirts that expose the midriff when seated or standing or raising one’s hand to answer a question in class nor any shirts that expose cleavage.

Seniors are not to wear clothing that is extremely oversized, specifically baggy pants that are not worn properly at the waist and shirts that, when untucked, are past the thigh area.

If you choose to wear your uniform, you must wear it COMPLETELY.

 You cannot mix dress-down clothes with the school uniform.

These guidelines are by no means all-inclusive. The administration reserves the right to make reasonable judgment regarding the attire and to require correction where deemed appropriate.
