James D. PartridgeJames D. Partridge
McGill Institute Class of ’50

James Partridge lives in Lillian, Alabama and is retired. He was married to Joan M. Partridge (now deceased), and they were parents of five children. Partridge is married to Mary Lou Chunn Partridge, and they have 16 grandchildren.

Partridge graduated from McGill Institute in 1950 and was a superior athlete here. He played varsity golf and varsity football and earned All-City and All-America honors in football.

Following his graduation from McGill Institute, Partridge entered Tulane University and received his bachelor of arts in education degree in 1954. While at Tulane, he was a member of the Green Wave football team. He was also drafted by the professional New York Giants football team.

After graduating from Tulane, Partridge entered the United States Air Force and served his country for 23 years. He retired in 1978 with the rank of colonel. His military decorations include the Air Force Legion of Merit, three Distinguished Flying Crosses, a Bronze Star and
sixteen Air Medals.

Partridge and his wife are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lillian. Partridge is on the St. Joseph Parish Council, the Advisory Board for Foley Community Hospice, where he is also a volunteer, and the Friends of Perdido Bay Environmental Board.
