A message from our President
Scientia Pro Amore Dei…Knowledge for the love of God
For more than 115 years, McGill-Toolen Catholic High School has been providing a high-quality secondary education, which enables individuals to grow in faith, to search for knowledge and truth and to continue building the kingdom of God on earth. We seek to continue this tradition and to attain our next level of excellence.
McGill-Toolen recently engaged CCS, the fundraising consulting firm which provided counsel for our successful 2005 campaign, to conduct a planning study in June 2013. The study evaluated the elements necessary for a successful capital campaign to fund the completion of the school’s Master Plan. Many members of our school community participated in the process via an interview or an email survey; thank you, again, for taking the time to offer your input.
With an unequivocal recommendation from CCS, the School Board and Foundation Board, together with the school administration voted to move forward immediately with a capital campaign. I am happy to report that Archbishop Rodi has accepted this recommendation and has approved of and given his support to this endeavor.
We are beginning a planning phase for the campaign to fund a new student center, which will include a dining hall for 400, a student plaza, and a new chapel. Architectural plans for the new student center are 95% complete. Other projects include additional parking, two new locker rooms for the gymnasium, and new, updated technology infrastructure for the campus. This initiative will bring to completion the vision for excellence, which began with our 2005 campaign, “Scientia Pro Amore Dei…Knowledge for the Love of God.”
Thank you for your continued support of McGill-Toolen, and I ask for your prayers as, together, we embark on this ambitious journey to continue to keep the flame of faith and learning alive at McGill-Toolen.
